September Newsletter

What a crazy week last week! Thank you for trying to get your kids to class. There was a huge car accident in front of the turn to Excel. A car was completely engulfed in flames. They closed down all surrounding roads and very few of my friends were able to make it through. I’m just very thankful that nobody was seriously injured in the accident. And, that none of my friends were involved.
This Thursday is a big one. We will be doing our costume try-ons. All Tiny Tunes will need to be fitted for their new costume. Yay! They are so cute. Here is a picture:

Model: Emma GraceAll of my new friends will be fitted for an entire costume and any of my returning friends that need a new piece here or there will be fitted for what they are in need of. Whew. That was a mouth full.
The break down for costume pricing is as follows. As I said in my little note, I will add the costume fee to your October tuition.

Tiny Tunes Girls $75-
*sparkly dress
*black bike shorts
*black netting skirt
*ribbon for hair
You need to purchase a pair of "Justice Brand" white footless tights, and ballet shoes

All Boys $35
*Black button down shirt $25
*red neck tie $10
You need to purchase black slacks, black socks, black church shoes

Harmonic Girls $62
*Black layering shirt-$14
*red sequin shrug-$20
*Black jazz pants-$25
*ribbon for hair-$3
You need to purchase black socks and black jazz shoes

You will notice that I have given specific shoes that need to be worn. I think we will look sharper on stage if all my kids have matching foot wear.

We have gotten a good start to our material, but we have a LONG way to go. Please make every effort to have your child to class each week.
I have not yet set up a pay-pal account…sorry. We’ll just have to use the old fashioned checkbook until I can find a minute to set it up. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Here is the way our calendar looks right now. I will add a couple of practice performances, and specific times for the concert as the dates get closer. My church invited our group to sing at their Christmas party last year. It was fun. Several of my students go to the same church as I do and they were able to perform for their friends. If your church has a Christmas party that they would like some entertainment for, let me know. We’ll see if we can add it to our schedule.
Sept. 2- Costume try-on date/tuition due
Oct. 6- tuition/costume fee due
Nov. 3- tuition/prop/performance fee due
Nov.24- No TaVaci- Thanksgiving
Dec. 1- tuition due
Dec. 3- Breakfast with Santa (Harbins Elementary)
Dec. 8- Last regular class
Dec. 16-17- Concert. Collins Hill High School
Times- TBA

Thank you for sharing your kids with us. They are so much fun.

August newsletter

Hello, Friends! I hope you are all having a GREAT summer. Things have been non-stop at the Baugh house. Fun. Fun. Fun.
But summer is almost over!!! No, tears. That means that Spotlight Kids (TaVaci) is about to start! Yippee!
I got the new music yesterday and I’m so excited. Our concert theme is: Comin’ Up Christmas. The Harmonic’s have a new version of a “Black Eyed Peas” song (Tonight’s the Night), a Nutcracker Megamix, and lots more. The Tiny’s have a Hoofin’ It song, Nuttin’ For Christmas, a fun North Pole Express song. All in all, it’s going to be awesome.
Spotlight Kids is not the only “new” thing we have going on this fall. I’m going to try and set up a pay-pal account for those of you who wish I could accept credit cards. Did I mention that I’m technologically challenged? Try was the key word.
Another NEW thing to look forward to is new Tiny Tunes costumes. I’ve been using the same costume since the beginning. It’s time for a change. I’m headed out west to meet with the seamstress (and to visit family). I’ll post a picture of the new costume on the Spotlight Kids Blog. I’m told the cost will be pretty much the same as the old ones.
What?!?! That’s right. I started a Spotlight Kids blog! I got a lot of your permission to post pictures on the blog. I’ll ask for permission from the remainder now. May I please post pictures of your kids on our blog? I’m going to use it to advertise our group and to keep you posted with the latest info.
Our blog is: spotlightkids.blogspot.com
At the bottom of the blog is a follow me by e-mail tab. Please enter your e-mail into the blog. That way, any time I post anything to the blog you will get an e-mail with the same message. Do you hear the angels singing? I’m going to post our newsletters on the blog and they will show up in your e-mail. Ta-da! It will be so easy to look up dates, times, and any other info you need to know. I’m also going pictures of our concerts and fun classes.
Fall is also a great time to make New Friends. If you have any friends that would like to join us, bring them along. We would love to have them. Another great thing about the blog? They can print a registration form right from home!
So, when do we start? When is the concert? I’ll tell ya:
Calendar:
Aug. 8- Gwinnett County Schools Start
Aug. 18- Spotlight Kids starts (Same location: Excel Gymnastics and Cheer)
5:30- Tiny Tunes
6:30- Harmonic Tunes
Sept. 2- Costume try-on date
Nov.24- No TaVaci- Thanksgiving
Dec. 16-17- Concert. Collins Hill High School
Times- TBA
I think that’s everything I need to tell you today. If I have anything else, I’ll post it on the blog! Yeah!

Celebrate You!

Our spring concert was a huge success. We had some unexpected hiccups (a couple of sick kids =(. But I’m always amazed at how well my kids step up to the plate. I think at least half of them asked if they could take the speaking part or sing the solo! Incredible! Adults never do that. We’re too nervous or scared. Not these kids. They’re ready to rumble.
Here are some pictures of the production. Many thanks to Jessica Dollar for taking these pictures. If you have any that you would like me to add, send them my way.
P.S. I love comments! Let me know what you think.
